I have thought about this for a while and decided to go for it. I already knew I wanted to read A Christmas Carol as my December classics read, but I decided to turn this into a Read-a-Long. I will be hosting this, so anyone who would like to follow along be sure to add your name/blog to the Mister Linky below.
Starting Wednesday, November 24th and ending on Friday, December 24th, all Five Staves of Charles Dickens Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol will be read.
Weekly Schedule:
- November 24-December 1: Stave One: Marley's Ghost (pages 1-25)
- December 1-8: Stave Two: The First of Three Spirits (pages 28-51)
- December 8-15: Stave Three: The Second of Three Spirits (pages 51-81)
- December 15-22: Stave Four: The Last of the Spirits (pages 81-101)
- December 22-24: Stave Five: The End of It (pages 101-106)
Feel free to grab the picture badge above, just copy/paste the image location. Make sure any, and all, blog posts about this Read-a-Long be linked back to my blog. Also, anyone who does not have a blog may also participate. Please leave a comment to me for each week with any thoughts you have on A Christmas Carol.
I hope you will join me!

What a great idea! I'll have to get myself a copy of the book... hopefully I won't be too far behind! I have always wanted to read this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in my Classics Challenge too! I'm really excited about it!
This is my first time reading A Christmas Carol so it will be fun reading it along with other bloggers. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI'll join in!
ReplyDeleteI've never participated in a read-along, and am very excited. I can't think of a better way to get into the Christmas Spirit! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteJust got a copy of it - only $4 at Borders Books! Its only 85 pages though, hopefully not too different a printing than yours. I'm going to write up a quick post about the read-a-long!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. I've never read A Christmas Carol before, but have wanted to. I've got a couple different ones on hold hopefully one is the correct version, not abridged or some such thing.
ReplyDeleteI'll share about this on my blog if you'd like.
Loving this idea! I don't think I've read A Christmas Carol since high school, maybe even middle school. I know shame on me, a reread is certainly in order.
ReplyDeleteHi first time here! I had been planning to read A christmas Carol this December myself, so I thought it would be good fun to participate in your read-along! :)
ReplyDeleteI too have wanted to read this and was thinking of doing it this year!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late, but I'll make it up tonight XD
