Special Guest Blogger!
To conclude my week of guest bloggers, I have asked Mrs. P to write a little something about her favorite childhood book. Mrs. P can be found on her award winning website. If you have not checked it out, you need to!
I am a big supporter of youth reading and writing, so I am ecstatic Mrs.P has created such a wonderful website! I wish her nothing but the best.
Contributed by Kathy Kinney who stars as Mrs. P on the award winning website.
-EndEven though my mother never finished high school she was a reader and she passed her love of it on to me - and I so do love to read. As a child if I loved a book I would re-read it once a year. Some of my yearly favorites were: Cheaper By the Dozen by Frank Gilbreth, Jr and his sister Ernestine Gilbreth Carey; Our Hearts Were Young and Gay by Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbrough and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein. It might seem like an odd combination of books - two biographies and a fantasy tale but what they had in common was living life in a fun, creative and adventurous way. That was the kind of life I wanted as a child and it is the kind of life I created for myself and lead now that I am grown. I read everyday for entertainment, comfort and to keep my imagination toned and ever ready for my next adventure. Giving someone the gift of reading is beyond value and thanks to our libraries it's free. So why not share the gift of reading with every man, woman and child you know - and of course don't forget to gift yourself. I have made it easy for everyone to enjoy a classic story with my free website full of books. So come meet me in my Magic Library at www.MrsP.com and I’ll read one to you.
Thank you for your kind and sweet words! I really enjoyed reading them, and I appreciate the time you spent on writing this for my blog.

Also, I did ask two other special people what their favorite childhood books were. The answers are below.
- Author Julie Kagawa (The Iron Fey Series): Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
- Website Novel Novice: Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene
Thank you to everyone who contributed this week. May we all encourage young readers!
Until next time,
