Top Ten [34]: Steamy Love Triangles *winky wink*

Today's prompt is a freebie. I decided to make a list of books that have more than one love interest. They may not be love triangles, exactly, but they do have more than one love interest... or potential love interest.

If you are fond of lists, especially Top 10 lists, this feature is the one to go with! Every week, the lovely ladies over at The Broke and the Bookish post a topic of their choice. Participating bloggers are asked to list their top 10's. I like to participate whenever I can. I love this idea, and often go a little crazy with adding 15, even 20 in my posts. Hehe!

This week's topic is: Top Ten Books With Steamy Love Triangles... Potential Love Triangles: The gist? A LOT of books have more than one lead love interest. I've decided to make a list of books that drove me crazy because of the steamy tug-of-war my heart was put through. I'm NOT going to name the two leads for spoiler reasons. If you have read these, then you should know what I'm talking about.

I picked some books [in a series] that need to be read from first book to last in order to see the triangle. Otherwise, each book starts off with a bang... cough cough...

Okay, I put The Immortal Rules because of one guy that has a few scenes. A lot of people I've talked to want him to be a love interest... and I kind of do, too! With Shatter Me, well I JUST HAD TO GO THERE! Sorry!!! Also, I thought about including The Hunger Games because the whole Peeta vs. Gale situation. But, to me it was, is, and will always be Peeta in my eyes! <-- I know I'm being a hypocrite because I included Twilight, and Edward is my #1 man... however, Jacob was a huge love interest throughout the series. It makes more sense to see Jake on the list than it does Gale.

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, Matched by Ally Condie, Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas,  Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins, Wings by Aprilynne Pike, Twilght by Stephenie Meyer, The Iron King by Julie Kagawa, Unearthly by Cynthia Hand, Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready

  2. Great list! I finished Born at Midnight yesterday and there's one huge love triangle (well, triangle... more like a star or something). It got a bit annoying, but the book was great anyway.

  3. Oh, I love me a good love triangle!! Clockwork Prince about had to in knots! I don't even know who I like better. That's good writing when both character's are real contenders!!

I'm with you on the Peeta/Gale thing. There's no love triangle. Never was. He's barely IN the books until the last one. I think people made it more than it was. Peeta forever!

I love me some Tamani! I was going to kill Lauren if she didn't get her head straight in the last book. I'm was about to throw the book out. So glad it all worked out. But the ending was sad wasn't it?!

  4. Thank you! I love love triangles...I think I probably like them too much. If there's a good love triangle where both are real contenders, count me in. Thanks for this list. I agree with you on Wings and Matched. Wings is so hard for me, but I think I've got to go with Tamani. I also agree with Peeta/Gale love triangle. It just wasn't really there all that much.

Have I mentioned how much I loved this post. :)

  5. I really want a love triangle between Kanin, Allie, and Zeke too! I'm usually not a huge fan of love triangles, but this list is great! :D

  7. The immortal rules (L) one of the best books I've read so far this year <3 I don't really see the love triangle, luckily, because I'm not a huge fan of those.

And a lot of those books are high on my tbr list!

  10. I've only read Matched on this list, but Throne of Glass is on my anticipation list, I've just acquired Clockwork Angel, and I'm in the middle of Shatter Me right now. Can't wait to check out some of these other books, especially if the romance is beautiful and incredibly well written.

    Great post!
