Twilight Thursday [15]: Official Trailer + Marathon

"I love you. It's a poor excuse for what I'm doing, but it's still true." Edward Cullen, Twilight, p. 366
Twilight Thursday is a feature I created to share my love of all things Twilight. I'm a huge fan of the books and movies, so every Twilight related topic I have to talk about will fall under this feature. Even though I vowed to never write a review of these books, I'm not opposed to sharing my opinions or defending the franchise I love. For any questions, comments, etc., about this feature or Twilight, feel free to leave a comment or email. I'm up for any/all Twi-Convos! This feature is not likely to be weekly.

Disclaimer: This feature is directed at Twilight fans. Whether you're a fan of the books and movies; or just the books; or just the movies... Twilight Thursday is a place for friendly conversation. Me, being such a big Twi-Hard, will be greatly offended if anyone leaves negative and hurtful comments in regards to any part of the Twilight franchise. Please be nice! Also, all posts will most likely contain spoilers. Please do not read anything written under the Twilight Thursday feature if you do not want anything spoiled. You've been warned

How lucky am I to have this feature fall on this Thursday?! If you don't already know, September 13th is Bella Swan's Birthday. I know it makes me a huge dork to remember this, and to even be excited to post a mention today, but here I am.

So without further adieu, this is just a quick Happy Birthday to one of my favorite book characters. Throw all the rotten fruit and veggies you want, I will forever be a fan of Bella. ~ Happy Birthday Mrs. Cullen!

Now, on to some more exciting things. If you weren't on your computer last Thursday and Friday, chances are you missed all the chatter about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt 2 and the official movie trailer debuting. It started Thursday night with MTV: VMA's releasing a 'sneak peek' or 'preview' of what was to come the very next day. Some of the actors from the franchise (i.e. Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, and Jackson Rathbone) were on hand to introduce the video. The very next day [Friday], Yahoo! Movies debuted the last Twilight Saga movie trailer with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2.

Have you seen it yet? If not, see below for all of the uh-maze-ing-ness!

Needless-to-say, my Twitter feed blew up with hundreds of comments about the new trailer. I love it when people break it down and name off their favorite parts, etc. Another awesome thing that happened was Twi-fans using the hashtag #TwilightMemories to quote their favorite lines from all of the movies.

What are some of your favorite clips from the previous sneak peeks? Did any of your favorite scenes in the book make it in the previous trailers? What are you most looking forward to seeing in the final installment? These are a bunch of questions I asked myself while waiting for the 'official' trailer to debut. I had a lot of time to think while I waited for Yahoo! Movies to drop the trailer, haha!

Now: The official full length feature trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2

If the trailer debuting wasn't exciting enough, Summit Entertainment released their plans to bring back the Twilight Marathon event on November 15th. This isn't exactly surprising because they've done this ever since New Moon came out in 2009. However, it's still exciting to have it officially confirmed by the big guns. So far, there isn't any details on how much the tickets will cost for the event, where the events will be held, and what time the first movie [Twilight] will show.

Here's what Summit Entertainment released:

SANTA MONICA, CA – September 10, 2012 – In celebration of the films from THE TWILIGHT SAGA series from the last four years, Summit Entertainment, a LIONSGATE® company, will be working with its partners in theatrical exhibition to offer fans and moviegoers alike a chance to screen all of the films to date as part of a THE TWILIGHT SAGA movie-marathon.  The marathon will take place on November 15, 2012 at theaters across North America.  Additionally, to accommodate demand as well as making THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2 available to moviegoers of many ages, the studio and its exhibition partners will release the newest film beginning with 10 p.m. screenings on November 15, 2012 at many local theaters.  THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2 will then be released across North America and around the world via multiple show times on November 16, 2012.

Fans who purchase tickets for THE TWILIGHT SAGA marathon will be treated to seeing Bella, Edward, Jacob and the entire cast again on the big screen starting with the first film in the series culminating with the arrival of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2.  Marathon ticket holders will also see exclusive interstitial content played between the films and a special event-only lanyard will also be given to marathon attendees to house their ticket.

More information regarding locations, screening times, and purchasing tickets will be announced soon.
As soon as I know more information I'll post about it; but for now, I'll conclude by saying next week will be an exciting post! Director Bill Condon sat down with a Twilight fan site and answered important questions about the final installment, plus changes from the book ending to the movie ending. Stay tuned!
